The MRCGP [INT] is a prestigious international certification for family medicine physicians, recognized in multiple regions worldwide. The qualification is delivered through several accredited centers, including South Asia, Dubai, Cyprus, and others, all maintaining the same standards, exam structure, and assessment criteria.

Holding the MRCGP [INT] provides clear benefits to doctors seeking specialist recognition and career advancement in family medicine. Based on current pathways:

  • Pakistan: Recognized as a Specialist in Family Medicine immediately upon obtaining the MRCGP [INT].

  • United Arab Emirates: Recognized as a Specialist in Family Medicine after three years of supervised practice.

  • Saudi Arabia: New rule (effective July 2025) – recognized as a Specialist in Family Medicine immediately, without prior experience, provided the physician passes the Prometric exam and is currently working in family medicine.

  • Australia: Considered partially comparable under the PEP Specialist Pathway, allowing doctors to work for six months under supervision, after which they can sit for the FRACGP exams for full recognition.

  • Egypt: Recognized as a Specialist in Family Medicine immediately, and eligible for Consultant status after 10 years of practice post-qualification.

  • United Kingdom: MRCGP [INT] holders can apply for the CEGPR pathway; upon successful assessment, they can be listed as a Specialist in Family Medicine.
