As of March 2025, the Egyptian Fellowship Programme in Family Medicine is no longer accredited by the Royal College of General Practitioners (RCGP) to the MRCGP[INT] standard.

According to the official RCGP statement, accreditation for Egypt was valid from November 2009 until March 2025. This means that only trainees who successfully passed the accredited assessment between those dates are eligible to apply for RCGP International membership and receive the MRCGP[INT] certificate.

From April 2025 onwards, new graduates of the Egyptian Fellowship Programme in Family Medicine will not automatically obtain the MRCGP[INT] qualification, as the programme is no longer recognised as an accredited centre.

It is currently unknown if or when Egypt’s accreditation will be renewed. For now, this is the confirmed status according to the RCGP’s official website.
